29257523_2106515836236034_3236107533680640000_oLLQ-AM.issuu16THE CAMBRIDGE THESPIANS ATTENDED the 2018 GA Thespian Conference (ThesCon) in Columbus, GA in early February with 5,200 other Georgia high school theatre students. The students received the Silver Honor- which is based on community service and outstanding theatre.

They were recognized in the Freestyle category for their outstanding original play and performance of The Businessman, directed by Max Hasse and written by Piper Adams and Eric Hennessy. Other awards earned at the conference in Columbus included: Superior rating – Solo Musical: Marcus Brooks Excellent rating – Group Musical: Kendall Warner, Britt Woods, Malia Roberts, Dana Robinson; Excellent rating – Acting: Orien Roy and Sofia Palacios Escobar; First Place went to Britt Woods and Second Place to Andrew Cardell for Improv performances.

Marcus Brooks was selected to perform at the IE Showcase/Closing Ceremony in front of an audience of 2,000.

The students just wrapped up their annual musical performance Beauty and the Beast the weekend of March 15. Tickets will be available soon for their next production, To Kill a Mockingbird, which debuts at Cambridge Theatre May 3, 4, and 5 at 7PM.
