The Directors are committed to excellence in the theatre arts and work tirelessly to educate their students while producing the highest quality theatrical productions. The theatre students attended ThesCon 2018 in early February and came home with more awards to add to the school’s legacy. Three out of the ten slots available to perform in the closing ceremony were occupied by students from Milton: Harrison Lewis and Courtney French acted a scene from “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.” McKinsey Griffis, Mary Caroline Owens and Owen Smith presented “At the Ballet” from “A Chorus Line.” Hayden Kerzie sang the solo Giant from “Boys Will Be Boys.” Owen Smith was awarded the Linda P. Wise Performance Scholarship, one of the twelve scholars presented to senior thespians.

A community favorite, the Company’s Cirque production just held auditions for upcoming showtimes May 3-5 and May 10-12. Tickets go on sale April 12th and can be purchased online or at the school. This is a production class so students work as a cohesive team to develop, produce and present a Cirque performance, and they all contribute to the creation of storyline, act development, character development, leadership and technical responsibilities. Students are expected to participate in extensive physical conditioning, training on aerial and ground apparatus, acting, clowning, miming and juggling.
